Elsevier participates in flagship events in Middle East

Elsevier, the global information analytics business specializing in science and health, actively participates and holds a number of conferences and events in the Middle East region engaging with regional stakeholders, and library, health and science communities in throughout the year.

Elsevier was part of the The Lebanese Library Association Conference, held 9-11 May 2018, for the first time to further engage with the Lebanese and Gulf Library community. Mohamed El Gebealy, Gulf & Levant Account Manager for Research Solutions at Elsevier and Mohamed Taki, Account Manager for Clinical Solutions at Elsevier both presented during the Lebanese Library Association Conference 2018: Innovative Libraries: Paths to the future.


The Second Middle East SciVal User Group event was hosted in Istanbul, 26th of April, and expanded to the SciVal Turkish and Middle User Group event on its second year for regionwide experience sharing. With the participation of Elsevier SciVal Product team, regional team and customers, the users had the chance to have a platform for exchanging ideas and sharing best practices for their institutions.


The Special Libraries Association(SLA) held its 24th Conference 6-8 March 2018 with the theme of big data and its investment prospects: the way toward knowledge integration. The conference in Muscat, Oman hosted a number of key decision makers representing the Middle East library community, where Elsevier had a booth, and its Regional Solutions Sales and Health Sciences businesses delivered key presentations to their target audiences.


GEO, considered to be one of the key events for the oil and gas sector in Middle East, brings together the key global and regional stakeholders and sector experts. GEO2018 took place in Bahrain 5-8 March 2018 and Elsevier supported the event as one of the key sponsors. Phoebe McMellon, Director of Oil & Gas Strategy & Segment Marketing at Elsevier, played a significant role taking place in both the technical committee and abstract reviewing group of the conference.


Elsevier’s Health business participated at the Cerner Middle East Collaboration Forum in Dubai 7-8 May 2018 — an annual interactive event bringing Cerner clients, associates and partners together from across the region to discuss how together we create a smarter care with better outcomes for a healthier individual. The forum was a mixture of captivating sessions, interesting conversations, knowledge sharing, fun activities and an awards ceremony. Elsevier found it an invaluable event to network and show its clinical decision support solutions to this captivating audience.
