When you publish an article, you want to make sure that it makes the most of the months (or even years) of work that went into the research and the writing process. So how do you decide where to publish? Elsevier has launched a new webpage highlighting the benefits of publishing in an Elsevier journal, helping you make that decision.
To quote the old Chinese philosopher, Lao Tzu: A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
Publishing your article can also be seeing as a journey and while it may not be made up of a “thousand miles”, there are many steps where we can guide you along the way. We are committed to supporting you throughout your publishing “journey” – from submission, through peer review, to publication and promotion – and the publishing benefits reflect this. Elsevier publishes more than 250,000 journal articles every year, and has developed a suite of benefits that help you improve your manuscript, make a bigger impact with your publication and develop your skills.
To help you learn and develop, Elsevier’s Publishing Campus provides online training, for which you can earn a certificate. When you’re ready to get writing, our WebShop services can help you polish your manuscript before you submit. You can enrich your article with Content Innovations like AudioSlides, and when it’s accepted, your article will be published on ScienceDirect and indexed in Scopus.
We can also help you make a splash and reach a wider audience with your article, with open access options, a Share Link that provides free access to your article, and guidance on how to promote your research. And we’ll also give you the tools to monitor how it’s going, with My Research Dashboard (Edit: this has now been renamed to Mendeley Stats).
Choosing the right journal for your manuscript can be challenging and we recognize you have a choice of where to submit your research. We have therefore developed these innovations over the last few years to help you make the most of your publication, and to enhance your experience of working with Elsevier – not just as an author, but also as a reviewer and reader throughout your research career.
We are continually working on new innovations and services, so the benefits of publishing with Elsevier will be revised regularly. You can read more and look out for new benefits at: elsevier.com/authorbenefits.
