Webinar: PICO search strategies – techniques to answer clinical questions using the biomedical literature

Join us as special guest Maura Sostack, medical librarian at Elsevier's Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM) Center, presents methods for searching the medical literature to answer clinical questions, with a focus on PICO Search Strategies.

The PICO (Patient, Intervention, Comparator/Control, Outcome) process is a technique used in evidence-based practice to frame and answer a clinical question. The PICO framework is also used to develop literature search strategies. In this webinar, Maura will discuss concepts that form the basis of a PICO search strategy, differentiate between hedges and pre-set limits and will demonstrate search strategies that can best answer different clinical questions.
