Forum Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi Indonesia (FPPTI)
The formation of the Forum Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi Indonesia (FPPTI) organization began from the National Library of the Republic of Indonesia's thoughts on the format of the development of higher education libraries which was conveyed at the meeting of the Heads of Libraries of State Universities and Private Universities throughout Java on September 19-30, 1999. This idea was then followed up with the establishment of the Forum Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi Indonesia (FPPTI) on October 12, 2000 in Ciawi Bogor.
The establishment of this organization is based on the reality that higher education libraries have not been able to play an optimal role in supporting the Tridharma of Higher Education, there is a gap in the education of functional librarians and lecturers, there is still a lack of cooperation between university libraries, and low education for university library managers. With the realization of FPPTI, it is hoped that it will be able to improve the library human resource profession, cooperation between university libraries, and increase the role of higher education libraries in supporting the Tridharma of Higher Education.
