Introducing the award

The awards organized by Elsevier had the support of Chile's National Commission for Scientific and Technological Research, CONICYT. The event took place in Santiago on June 20th and had the attendance of 110 people, including rectors, vice-rectors, deans, and decision makers.
On the occasion, Elsevier and CONICYT had honored eight scientists who work in many areas of knowledge such as Physics and Astronomy, Engineering and Earth Sciences, Health Sciences, Biology and Biotechnology, Social Sciences and Computing. Also, it was awarded the contribution of two young scientists.

Scopus Award Chile was given to scientists affiliated with Chilean institutions that have the greatest number of papers published in the more than 20,500 titles in Scopus (and high h-index), as well as those scientists whose work has received more citations in recent years, in different areas of knowledge.
