Clinical practice guidelines: closing the gap between theory and practice
Research has demonstrated that clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) are truly major and effective tools in the practice of delivering evidence-based medicine to achieve effectiveness of better patient outcomes and safer care. They are required to be used in all JCI accreditation programs. Yet despite its value, CPGs are usually not followed by physicians due to various reasons. Keeping updated with the latest research and guidelines can prove to be a major challenge for many providers.
