Jack K. Hale Award in Dynamical Systems and Differential Equations
A biennial award established in 2013 and linked to Journal of Differentiated Equations (JDE). The first award will be given out in 2014 and nominations are solicited until the end of the year.
Cash prize of USD $2,500 offered.
About the award
The Elsevier Jack K. Hale Award in Dynamical Systems and Differential Equations honors the contributions and influence of Prof. Jack K. Hale (1928-2009), a pioneer in the field of dynamical systems and differential equations and long-time Editor in Chief of the Journal of Differential Equations (JDE). The award has been established through the sponsorship of JDE and Elsevier.
This award has been created with the aim to distinguish researchers who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of dynamics and differential equations, working in the spirit of Prof. Hale who was a long time Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Differentiated Equations (JDE).
The Jack K. Hale Award will consist of a cash prize of $2,500 and be awarded biennially. The selection committee will consist of 5 members including representatives from the board of JDE, external appointees, and, in the future, previous recipients of the award.
Nominations from the public are solicited and, for the inaugural award, should be submitted to JDE@Elsevier.com. It is strongly suggested that nominees have received their Ph.D. degree within the last 12 years. A nomination should include an overview of the research accomplishments and vita of the nominee. Additionally, it is strongly encouraged that several letters (ideally three or four) in support of the nominee also be included.
