Description

The orbital surfaces are the smooth, flat, quadrilateral areas found along the anterosuperior aspects of both the right and left greater wings of the sphenoid bone. On its corresponding side, each orbital surface:

—is located lateral to a superior orbital fissure and superior to an inferior orbital fissure;

—contributes to the formation of the lateral wall of an orbit.
