Description

The jugular notch of the sternum (suprasternal or presternal notch) is the large indentation found along the superior border of manubrium of the sternum. It is located between the right and left clavicular notches and forms a palpable depression at the root of the neck.

The jugular notch provides an attachment site for the interclavicular ligament.
