Read moreDescription
The articular facet is the smooth, oval area found along the tubercle of the third rib. It articulates with the transverse costal facet of the third thoracic vertebra, forming the third costotransverse joint.
Overall, these articular facets on tubercles are only present on the first to tenth ribs, while the eleventh and twelfth ribs lack this bony feature.
