The anterior temporal branch of middle cerebral artery (aka anterior temporal artery) arises from the inferior terminal branch of the middle cerebral artery. It travels laterally, through the lateral sulcus, and then inferiorly along the lateral surface of the anterior part of the temporal lobe.
It provides an arterial supply to the lateral surface of the anterior part of the temporal lobe.
