Description
The mandibular notches (sigmoid notches) are the two deep indentations found along the posterosuperior aspects of the mandible. On its corresponding side, each mandibular notch:
—travels anteriorly from a condylar process to a coronoid process of the mandible;
—allows for the passage of the masseteric nerve and vessels.
