Description
The auricular surface of sacrum is the smooth, ear-shaped, articular area found along the lateral surface of the sacrum. It is located anterior to the sacral tuberosity and it articulates with the auricular surface of ilium, forming the sacroiliac joint.

Sacrum
The sacrum, fixed in space by the tension of its ligaments and fascial envelope, functions as the connecting link between the spine and upper (or forequarter) extremities, and the pelvis and lower (hindquarter) extremities.
