Origin

The small cardiac vein originates along the right atrium.

Course

The small cardiac vein follows the course of the right marginal artery and crosses deep to the right coronary artery as it travels to the coronary sinus. It drains into the coronary sinus near its termination.

Tributaries

The small cardiac vein is formed by the union of small unnamed veins.

Structures Drained

The small cardiac vein contributes to the drainage of the posterior portion of the right atrium and ventricles.
