Webinar: From Open Science to Impact

Open Science is a term increasingly used to describe a more collaborative, open, transparent, effective, and efficient research environment, partly driven by new and emerging technologies. Publishers and research information providers are at the forefront of open science initiatives, helping drive activities that can enhance research performance and ensure clear signals of integrity in an open environment, as well as bringing science closer to society.

A key question posed during the Impact of Science Conference (Stockholm, 12-13th June 2017) was ‘How research quality and societal impact relate to each other, and how one affects the other?’ This webinar will explore the role that Open Science can play in helping to drive research performance and in turn (and independently) maximizing the societal impact of research. This webinar will consider challenges and opportunities regarding one area of Open Science, in particular Research Data, and will consider how researchers can be incentivised to embrace Open Science.

In other words: 'How can researchers embrace open science for better research & societal impact?'
