Scopus AI is a generative AI-enhanced research tool integrated into the Scopus website to help early-career academics and researchers working across different disciplines to navigate and understand academic content. It assists users in comprehending unfamiliar academic fields, facilitating exploration, providing a summarized view based on Scopus titles and abstracts, and soon, a visual graph representation for a broader perspective based on associated keywords.
Scopus AI testing currently uses the latest Large Language Models (LLMs) and other technologies in combination with Elsevier’s own technology
Initially, for this pilot, we use all Scopus content types (metadata and abstracts; but not full-text articles) from 2018 to present
Our LLM usage is private, meaning there is no data exchange or use of our data to train the public model — this important feature of our implementation offers privacy and peace of mind to data publishers and authors
Having undergone rigorous initial testing, iteration and improvement during its initial ‘Alpha’ testing phase, Scopus AI have moved into the ‘Beta’ development stage. Scopus AI Beta continues to be tested with a select group of customers. If you are in the pilot, to access the Scopus AI Beta experience, navigate to the new “Scopus AI” tab on Scopus.com and input your query.
While in the ‘Beta’ development stage, Scopus AI is free to pilot testers. Full product pricing and availability will be determined and shared in the future.
