Shu-Hong Yu is the Cheung Kong Chair Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), P. R. China. He serves as the Director of the Division of Nanomaterials and Chemistry, Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at Microscale, USTC. His research interests include bio-inspired synthesis of nanostructures, self-assembly of nanoscale building blocks, nanocomposites, their related properties and applications. He has authored or co-authored more than 400 refereed journal publications, and 17 invited book chapters. His work has been cited more than 21,700 citations (H index 80), named as a Highly Cited Researcher in 2014 and 2015 by Thomson Reuters. He is on the editorial advisory board or advisory board of journals Accounts of Chemical Research, Chemistry of Materials, Chemical Science, Materials Horizons, Nano Research, Scientific Reports, ChemNanoChem, ChemPlusChem, Crystals, CrystEngComm, and Particle & Particle Characterization System. His recent awards include 2nd National Natural Science Award (2010-), the Roy-Somiya Medal of ISHA (2010) and Chem. Soc. Rev. Emerging Investigator Award (2010).
