Krüss GmbH is a German developer and manufacturer of scientific measuring instruments for interfacial and foam analysis. Krüss is the global market leader for tensiometers and contact angle measuring instruments. The Hamburg-based company has been family-owned and managed for eight generations. It goes back to an optical workshop which was founded in 1796. Numerous inventions in the field of measuring technology and optics have been produced in the company's more than 200-year history. These include a globally popular "wonder camera" based on the magic lantern, the first processor-controlled tensiometer, and the first instrument for the mobile, fully automatic measurement of the surface free energy of solids. In addition toits headquarters in Hamburg, Krüss GmbH has subsidiaries and agencies in 27 countries, and runs its own laboratories as well as a training center for interfacial chemistry. The subsidiary established in Shanghai, China, has been running since 1st of July.
