Randolph J. Nudo, Ph.D. is Vice Chair of Research in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, the Marian Merrell Dow Distinguished Professor in Aging, and Director of the Landon Center on Aging. Dr. Nudo is a leading authority on the topic of brain plasticity and recovery after injury. He is recognized internationally for his work on the effects of physiotherapy on functional plasticity after stroke. Dr. Nudo is currently collaborating with engineers to develop micro implantable devices for repairing neural circuits after stroke, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. Dr. Nudo is also the Editor-in-Chief of the journal, Neurorehabilitation & Neural Repair, the top journal in the field of rehabilitation (based on impact factor), and Deputy Editor of Brain Stimulation. He currently serves as a member of the National Advisory Committee for Medical Rehabilitation Research.
