We look forward to welcoming you to the first edition of the Digital Psychology and Education Conference 2027 (DPEC 2027) held under the theme Psychology and Education in the age of AI, which will take place in Shenzhen, China from 17-20 June 2027.
Sponsored jointly by the journals Computers in Human Behavioropens in new tab/window and Computers & Educationopens in new tab/window, this conference will bring together academics and practitioners working at the interface of humans and technology, with a particular focus on the application of AI tools in psychology and educational settings.
Large language models, agentic AI, and intelligent interactive systems are redefining how we encounter, engage with, and make meaning from information — fundamentally transforming the cognitive, emotional, and social processes at the heart of both education and psychology. Therefore, researchers and practitioners must ask: "What is the future of education and our role as humans when the systems we interact with no longer simply present information, but reason alongside us, adapt to us, and co-construct understanding with us?".
Answering this question is the critical first step in understanding how we can live with, manage, and harness the power of AI for the benefit of humanity. Defining how it can support and enhance education and overall human wellbeing.
This first edition of DPEC offers a platform for critical dialogue across disciplines, sectors, and continents. With strong participation from Elsevier’s leading journals in computer interaction studies, DPEC 2027 will feature a rich program including:
Keynote addresses by internationally recognized scholars and thought leaders from Psychology and Education backgrounds
Academic sessions showcasing cutting-edge theoretical and empirical research
Interactive “Meet the Editor” sessions and “How to Get Published” panels which will support both early-career and established researchers in navigating the scholarly publication landscape
With these initiatives, DPEC 2027 aims to foster dialogue, collaboration, and visibility across disciplines and regions, making it a vibrant gathering at the intersection of education, digital psychology, and societal transformation.
