Philadelphia, PA, February 22, 2010 – Elsevier, the leading publisher of scientific, technical and medical information, today announced it is celebrating medical education innovation at the American Medical Student Association’s (AMSA) 60th Annual Convention, March 11-14, 2010, at the Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, California.

“Elsevier is committed to supporting the ‘passion, professionalism (and) pride’ of up-and-coming physicians through a full range of online, print and mobile resources, including USMLE Consult, Student Consult and our new 3-D virtual reality product InteractElsevier,” says Randy Charles, Managing Director for Elsevier Health Sciences Global Clinical Reference Group. “No matter what the preferences of today’s medical students, Elsevier has the resources to meet their learning styles, study schedules and budgets.”

Among the resources that Elsevier will showcase at AMSA are:
* Student Consult, which provides full-text, online access to top medical education titles such as the new edition of Netter’s Atlas of Human Anatomy, along with additional study tools like image banks, questions, animations, and a virtual microscope
* USMLE Consult, which offers USMLE test preparation guidance, simulations, review plans and remediation
* InteractElsevier, which explores human anatomy and virtual dissection through 3-D virtual reality technology
* Mobile applications such as Netter’s Anatomy Flash Cards

The first 1,000 AMSA student attendees who visit the Elsevier booth (#18-19) will receive a complimentary three-month subscription to USMLE Consult Step 1 Question Bank Review Plan, with content from respected Elsevier resources such as Gray’s Anatomy and officially reviewed and approved by Edward Goljan, M.D., Professor and Chairman of Pathology, Oklahoma State University, College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Goljan, who calls Elsevier “the undisputed leader in medical education” and a “premier health sciences information source,” will meet attendees at the Elsevier booth and sign copies of his popular book, Rapid Review Pathology. He will also headline an Elsevier-sponsored session, USMLE- Prepping with Dr. Goljan and the Rapid Review Series, on Friday, March 12, from 2-2:50 p.m.
