Quick Facts

The limbic lobe is located on the medial aspect of the cerebral cortex, forming its inner border. It is composed of a number of structures also located on the medial surface, including the cingulate gyrus, the isthmus, the parahippocampal gyrus, the uncus and the subcallosal area. The limbic lobe interacts with subcortical structures to form the limbic system.
