Description

The oral vestibule refers to the narrow space between the lips and cheeks and the external surface of the teeth. If the teeth are occluded, this region is sealed off from the oral cavity proper, except behind the third molar teeth. The inner labial surface is attached in the midline to the gingivae via the frenula of the upper and lower lips.
