Origin

The uterine artery divides into tubal and ovarian branches within the broad ligament as it approaches the ligament of the ovary and the uterotubal junction.

Course

It travels laterally within the mesosalpinx and forms an anastomosis with the tubal branch of the ovarian artery.

Branches

It gives several small unnamed branches as it travels along the proximal portion of the uterine tube.

Supplied Structures

The tubal branch of the uterine artery supplies the proximal two thirds of the uterine tube. The tubal branch of the uterine artery forms an anastomosis with the tubal branch of the ovarian artery.
