Description
The ovaries receive collateral arterial supply from abdominal and pelvic origins. The ovarian arteries arise from the abdominal aorta and descend into the pelvic cavity. In addition, the ovarian branch of the uterine artery arises from the anterior division of the internal iliac artery and travels first superiorly, and then laterally towards the ovary.
