International Conference on Applied Surface Science

Shamil Shaikhutdinov, The Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society (FHI), Germany

Shamil Shaikhutdinov has received his Ph.D. (1986) in Physics at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Then he joined the Boreskov Institute of Catalysis at Novosibirsk to carry out surface science studies of catalytic systems. In addition, he has been working as a postdoctoral fellow in several research centres in Germany and France. Since 2004 he is leading the group “Structure and Reactivity” in the Department of Chemical Physics of the Fritz-Haber Institute at Berlin. His research interest is focused on an understanding of the atomic structure and surface chemistry of functional materials.
