Jean-François Berret is director of research (1rst class) at the CNRS since 2011. He entered the CNRS in 1983, and was promoted director of research (2nd class) in 1999. From 2000 to 2004, he joined the Rhodia/CNRS Complex Fluids lab in Cranbury (New Jersey USA) and he was involved in research and development in chemistry. In 2005, he was appointed at the laboratory Matière et Systèmes Complexes in Paris at the University Paris-Diderot in the Biophysics group. Since then, his research focuses on the development of stimuli-responsive nanomaterials for applications in biology and nanomedicine. His research work includes nanoparticle design and characterization, polymer interfacing, magnetic biosensing assemblies and in vivo imaging. He is the author or co-author of 134 papers published in peer-review journals.
