Academia futura: Universities for excellence and impact in the AI age

The global and local impact of universities on the cities and regions they are in, as well the different types of impact, are only recently getting attention. Future-proofing academia needs understanding of the broad flavours of impact, whether in terms of fundamental scientific, economic and societal factors or the location.

Using discussion, case studies and surveys of academic leaders, this session will explore recent advances – including the use of artificial intelligence (AI) – in metrics and the methods with which universities can capture and showcase impact.

Rethinking academic publishing: Balancing quality, impact and pressure
