Professor in the Department of Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence at the School of Computer Science, UCM. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and a Ph.D. in Computer Systems from UCM.
His research has focused primarily on the field of Distributed Artificial Intelligence, with over 150 publications, more than 5,200 citations, and an h-index of 34 according to Google Scholar. Other areas in which he has been active include the Internet of Things (IoT), Ambient Assisted Living (AAL), Smart Grids, and educational innovation through social media. He is a member of the IEEE IoT Activities Board for the promotion of IoT in various fields at the international level from 2018 to 2022.
He has participated in European projects and led several national ones, collaborating with public institutions such as CIEMAT and major companies such as Telefónica I+D, Ibermática, and Boeing Research and Technology Europe. He is also an open-source software developer with several active projects that have had an impact on the research community.
