Introducing the award
This annual £300 award recognises excellence and innovation from new researchers within the field of stammering. The award is open to any student (full or part time; undergraduate or postgraduate; UK or international) whose research project has been accepted for presentation (oral or poster) at the 10th Oxford Dysfluency Conference (ODC). The research project must focus on children or young people who stammer and will have been completed within the last three years.
This annual award is made in honour of Travers Reid, the co-founder and Life President of Action for Stammering Children, the charity which supports The Michael Palin Centre for Stammering Children and the Leeds Stammering Support Centre.
Once accepted for presentation at the Oxford Dysfluency Conference, students who wish to be considered for the award should be nominated by their University supervisor. A letter of recommendation should be forwarded to Alison Nicholas firstname.lastname@example.org by 31st March 2014.
A panel comprising members of the ODC Scientific Committee will judge applications based on abstracts, supporting recommendations and the research presentation made at ODC.
The Award of £300 will be presented by Travers Reid at the closing ceremony on 20th July 2014.
