Introducing the award

The “Cortex Prize” is awarded to a promising young scientist (defined as within 7 years from their PhD) selected by the representatives of the societies partaking in the Federation of the European Societies of Neuropsychology – ESN. The prize is officially granted during the ESN general meeting, at which the winner is invited to give a keynote address and to submit a review of their work to Cortex.



The latest “Cortex Prize” winner, Floris de Lange from the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behavior, Radboud University Nijmegen, Netherlands, was announced at the 2013 ESN conference held in Berlin. He gave a lecture on ‘Prediction in Perception: How foreknowledge changes neural processing’ at the meeting.

Previous winners:

The prize winner will have travel expenses and accommodation to attend F-ESN paid. As well as receiving a certificate, giving a plenary lecture at F-ESN and being invited to publish a review in Cortex.
