Elsevier to Publish ESCMID’s Flagship Journals

Clinical Microbiology and Infection and NewMicrobes & New Infections to be published by Elsevier effective January2015

Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technicaland medical information products and solutions, announced today that an agreement has been reached with the EuropeanSociety of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) to publish its flagship journals, ClinicalMicrobiology and Infection (CMI) and NewMicrobes & New Infections(NMNI) beginning January 1, 2015.

Established in 1995, CMI is widely recognized as one of thepremier international journals in the field. It is guided by an eminenteditorial board led by Editor-in-Chief Didier Raoult, MD, PhD, Aix-MarseilleUniversity, Marseille, France. The journal publishes peer-reviewed papers thatpresent basic and applied research relevant to therapy and diagnostics in thefields of microbiology, infectious diseases, virology, parasitology, immunologyand epidemiology.

To allow quick publication ofnew events in clinical microbiology and to facilitate data sharing byscientists in the field across the globe, ESCMID launched NMNI in 2013under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief Michel Drancourt, MD, PhD,Aix-Marseille University. It serves the field as a multilingual, peer-reviewed,open access journal for rapid dissemination of the latest research, with aparticular focus on new genomes, new microbes and new technology applied to thediagnosis of infectious and tropical diseases.
