Description

The iliopubic (iliopectineal) eminence is the raised area on the coxal bone that marks the union between the body of ilium and the superior pubic ramus. It contributes to the formation of the linea terminalis (pelvic brim), which is a distinct ridge that separates the greater pelvis from the lesser pelvis.

The iliopubic eminence provides an insertion site for the psoas minor muscle, as well as attachment sites for the pubofemoral ligament and the iliopsoas fascia.
