Anatomical Relations
The ulnotriquetral ligament forms part of the palmar ulnocarpal ligament. It arises from the ulna indirectly via the palmar radiolunate ligament (part of the triangular fibrocartilaginous complex) and via the ulnar styloid process. The ulnotriquetral ligament extends distally to insert onto the proximal surface of the triquetrum (Moritomo, 2013).

Function
The palmar ulnocarpal ligaments strengthen the articular capsule of the radiocarpal joint and prevent displacement of the head of ulna.
