Scientists Working in The Laboratory, Using Touch Screen

Elsevier talk

Join Frederik van den Broek and Ivan Krstic for their presentation on how semantic technologies and evidence layers can help make AI more trustworthy in medicinal chemistry.

Presentation title: Closing the AI Trust Gap in Medicinal Chemistry with Semantics and Evidence

Despite growing adoption of AI in medicinal chemistry, trust in its outputs remains a challenge. This presentation explores how Elsevier's semantic technologies, scientific data, and evidence-grounded retrieval can help close this gap by connecting internal and external knowledge and grounding AI outputs in verifiable evidence. Using BRAF V600E inhibitor research as an example, we demonstrate how these capabilities support more reliable scientific investigations within conversational and agentic AI workflows.

Session: Tuesday, 10 November | 16:00 | AI/ML for Drug Discovery Track

We look forward to welcoming you at the booth and hope to see you at the session.

Elsevier as trusted partner

Elsevier partners with pharmaceutical and life sciences organizations worldwide to turn high-quality scientific information into decisions.

Our data and AI-enabled platforms support every stage of drug discovery, from target identification and hit finding to lead optimisation and route design. Teams spend less time searching and reconciling fragmented information, and more time on the next compound.

Chemistry and drug discovery teams rely on Elsevier to:

  • Plan synthetic routes with decades of curated experimental reaction data

  • Profile compounds with validated properties and bioactivity data

  • Find the literature behind a target, mechanism or lead faster

  • Bring trusted data into the AI tools their scientists already use

Data solutions

Chemistry and drug discovery teams face a growing sea of scientific data. Discover solutions that turn it into discoveries.

  • Power your custom applications and third-party tools with domain-specific, curated and enriched Datasets

  • Get more from your data with text analytics and data enrichment tools from SciBite

  • Solve data integration and applied analytics challenges with our domain and data science experts in Professional Services

Reaxys & Connectors

Reaxys is Elsevier’s chemistry research database: curated experimental reaction data, substances, properties and synthetic routes, combined with AI to help you plan and decide faster.

Elsevier Connectors bring that trusted scientific data into the AI agents and copilots your teams already use. Your scientists get answers grounded in curated, citable content, not in whatever an AI model happens to find.

At Drug Discovery Chemistry Europe, we’ll show how:

  • Reaxys speeds up route planning, compound profiling and lead optimization

  • Elsevier connectors bring trusted scientific data into AI environments

  • Reaction intelligence supports the future of research platforms
