We’re excited to introduce Deep Research, a powerful new Scopus AI feature designed to spark curiosity, foster critical thinking and save you valuable time.
While Scopus AI is known for providing reliable and concise research summaries, Deep Research takes it a step further by producing comprehensive reports in just minutes - reports that cut days off early-stage research.
How it works
Deep Research leverages agentic AI, with a reasoning engine designed to support complex research workflows. When you ask a question, it goes beyond summarizing information - it develops a detailed research plan, conducts extensive searches across Scopus’ curated literature and refines its strategy as new insights emerge. All steps are guided by carefully designed prompts to uphold academic standards.
Its findings are synthesized and shared in a nuanced, in-depth and downloadable report.
Why users love Deep Research
Deep Research can help facilitate your research objectives in a number of valuable ways, helping you:
Save time: Early adopters tell us that a Deep Research report can save days of preliminary research, enabling focus on higher-value tasks
Simplify complexity: Deep Research provides clear, synthesized insights across domains, simplifying the exploration of complex topics that typically require multiple searches and hours of analysis
Get specific: Refine your search with filters like location, timeframe, or study type (e.g., “Include only review papers” or “Focus on studies from 2020-2024 with 50+ citations”). This allows you to tailor reports for grant applications, policy recommendations or interdisciplinary collaboration.
Build trust: Deep Research shows each action it takes in real time and delivers reports based solely on expert-vetted, peer-reviewed Scopus content, including references and confidence scores for transparency
Go deeper: Deepen your understanding of complex topics by exploring them from multiple angles - not just summaries
Spot gaps: Identify research gaps and emerging themesfor new research and innovation
Connect fields: Discover unexpected links across disciplines to foster interdisciplinary insights

Research on the go (March 2025)
We understand that research doesn’t just happen at your desk—it happens wherever inspiration strikes. In this update, we’ve optimized Scopus AI for mobile and introduced new features like Conversational history and Conversational follow-up, giving researchers the freedom to stay in the flow and maintain momentum anytime, anywhere.
Stay ahead of the curve with Emerging themes. This groundbreaking feature identifies and categorizes established, rising and novel themes based on Scopus AI user queries. Using a proprietary algorithm, it scans Scopus documents from the last two years and clusters them by topic, pinpointing “white space” for publications, collaborations, and funding opportunities.
In this release, we’ve introduced a new feature for Scopus AI called Copilot. Copilot optimizes responses to highly specific or complex queries. It uses both keyword and vector search tools, employing more varied types of search technology to better process specialized queries and provide more specific responses.
