Michael J. Hautus obtained his PhD in Psychology from the University of Auckland in 1993, where he is now an Associate Professor in the School of Psychology. His research interests lie in the domain of empirical quantitative research, which includes quantitative assessment of the functioning of sensory systems, modelling sensory judgments, and modelling cognitive processes involved in judgment. He has 70+ peer-reviewed publications in international journals. These span the areas of quantitative psychology, memory, sensory evaluation, pain, auditory neuroscience, mathematical modelling, and decision science.
