Yonghua Li-Beisson, Institut de Biosciences et Biotechnologies, Université Aix Marseille, Franc
Yonghua Li-Beisson is a Senior Scientist at CEA (the French Atomic and Alternative Energies Commission) and also at Aix-Marseille University. She received a PhD in Biological Sciences from University of Hull, England, and this is followed by carrying out postdoctoral research at University of Oxford and at Michigan State University. Dr. Li-Beisson’s research focuses on uncovering the genes and pathways underlying fatty acid and lipid metabolism, and the use of such knowledge to increase oil content and/or producing industrially important fatty acids. Current major work include the dissection of lipid pathways and the interplay between these and other subcellular metabolism in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii using a combination of forward/reverse genetic approaches and lipidomic analysis. She currently serves as member of the editorial boards for The Plant Cell, Plant and Cell Physiology, and mSpere.
