Doug Elliott, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, USA
Doug Elliott has over 41 years of research and project management experience at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, from which he retired January 31, 2016. The focus of his work has been on development of fuels and chemicals from biomass and waste. His research has involved biomass liquefaction and hydroprocessing of product oils and catalytic hydrothermal gasification of wet biomass and contaminated water streams. Much of this research was funded by the U.S. Department of Energy but often included industrial and other partners. He became involved in algae conversion to fuels as part of the NAABB and led the development effort in hydrothermal processing within that alliance.
