Rafael Jose Gavara Clemente, IATA, CSIC, Spain
Rafael Gavara is Senior Research scientist at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology, Council of Scientific Research (CSIC), SPAIN. He graduated in Chemistry and obtained his PhD in Chemistry at the University of Valencia. Dr. Gavara is project leader in the areas of Food Packaging materials and technologies and Food Package interactions and is author of numerous scientific articles, books and book chapters in this field. At present, his research activities are mainly focused on the study and development of active packaging systems, including antimicrobial packaging and he has recently published the book: Practical guide to Antimicrobial Packaging.
