Daniela Zarnescu

Daniela Zarnescu is an Associate Professor of Molecular and Cellular Biology at University of Arizona, Tucson. She received her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Pennsylvania State University and post-doctoral training in molecular genetics at Emory University School of Medicine. Her laboratory investigates RNA based mechanisms underlying normal development, aging and disease using Drosophila models. Recent work from her group showed that TDP-43 controls the localization and translation of specific mRNAs targets in motor neurons in flies and patient tissues
