We’re delighted to introduce you to the highly esteemed experts we worked with to build the ClinicalKey Global Challenge 2019.

From selecting questions and crafting the video round, to building the ultimate clinical escape room, these illustrious Elsevier authors and clinical practitioners have been key in creating the Global Challenge.

Dr. Ted O'Connell

Dr. Ted O'Connell is a family physician, educator, author, innovator, and speaker. ​He has written and edited over a dozen medical textbooks as well as numerous textbook chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles.

Dr. O'Connell has served as an Expert Reviewer and Medical Consultant for the Medical Board of California. In this role, Dr. O'Connell has reviewed dozens of cases to help ensure high quality medical care in the State of California.​

Recently, Dr. O'Connell was named Physician of the Year by the Napa and Solano Medical Society​ and is currently an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the UC San Francisco School of Medicine.

Dr. Ryan Pedigo

Dr. Ryan Pedigo is an emergency medicine physician and has been the recipient of multiple teaching awards including the Faculty Teaching Excellence award from EMRA (2018), National Emergency Medicine Junior Faculty Teaching Award from ACEP (2018), and the Young Educator of the Year Award from SAEM/CDEM (2017).

He was leader of the team that won the national resuscitation competition SimWars at ACEP in 2014.

Ryan is currently is full-time faculty and Clerkship Director at Harbor, as well as Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.​

I am passionate about emergency medicine, evidence-based medicine, employing innovative teaching methods, bedside teaching, and faculty development in medical education.

Dr Hao-Hua Wu

Hao-Hua Wu is an orthopaedic surgery resident at the University of California, San Francisco with a strong interest in global health and medical education.

Dr Hao-Hua is one of the authors behind the popular Gunner Goggles Series; the first exam prep resource written by a high-scoring peer group of medical students, ensuring the most practical and efficient study guidance.

Dr. Raj Dasgupta​

Dr. Raj’s life mission is to educate patients, students and aspiring doctors to better patient care. ​

He received the faculty teaching award for the last 3 consecutive years and is quadruple board certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Raj is an active clinical researcher and currently teaches USMLE Step 1, 2, 3, and Internal Medicine Board Review around the world for the past 15 years.​

Dr. Raj is Currently a Professor at the University of Southern California (USC and also appears on various media platforms and television shows such as the “The Doctors” (  “Bill Nye Saves the World”, “ESPN”, “Larry King Now” and “You Can Do Better”.​
