Elsevier Set To Launch First Journal On Greenhouse Gas Control
New partnership between IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme and Elsevier
Oxford, UK, 1 February 2007 - Elsevier announced today that it is launching a new journal titled ‘International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control’. The journal will be published quarterly in association with the IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme. The International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control will be the first journal to focus exclusively on technological developments for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and is supported by an international editorial board.
The scope of the journal will include carbon dioxide emissions, transmission, capture and storage, along with alternative mitigation options and economic policy studies. The journal is aimed at researchers, practitioners and policy makers and may also contain non-technical material of interest to advocacy groups, the general public and the press.
Editor-in-Chief John Gale IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme explains "Recent reports produced by the UNFCCC/IPCC on greenhouse gas mitigation have highlighted the need for a peer reviewed journal in this research area. We believe that the journal can fill this vacuum and provide a quality data set of peer reviewed literature that future global assessments can draw upon".
Henri van Dorssen, Elsevier Journal Publisher in the area of Energy adds "Our market surveys showed strong and growing demand for an authoritative forum in this multi-disciplinary research area. The good connections with the IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme are crucial for the success of this new launch"
The first issues of International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control will contain selected high quality papers from the 8th International Conference on Greenhouse Gas Control Technologies, Trondheim, Norway, June 2006.
