Elsevier Selected to Publish American College of Chest Physicians’ Flagship Journal CHEST
Philadelphia, February 24, 2015
Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, and the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST), a world-renowned publisher of evidence-based practice guidelines in chest medicine, have announced that Elsevier will publish CHEST’s flagship journal CHEST as of January 1, 2016.
CHEST is a clinically focused, monthly journal featuring peer-reviewed, original research in the multidisciplinary specialties of chest medicine, including pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine as well as thoracic surgery, cardiorespiratory interactions and related disciplines. Articles published in CHEST stress practical application, diagnostics, treatment and therapies. Since 2005, the journal has been led by Editor-in-Chief Richard S. Irwin, MD, Master FCCP. The journal presents original research, reviews, and the latest trends in the various specialties to more than 300,000 readers around the world, and is available in print and online.
"We are excited to begin this new relationship with Elsevier and we look forward to CHEST's continued success under this collaboration," said Paul Markowski, CEO and Executive Vice President of the American College of Chest Physicians. "CHEST will remain a leading publication designed to aid clinicians in providing the best patient care possible."
Dr. Irwin, said, “Our publishing agreement with Elsevier will allow CHEST to remain competitive, will help us to distribute research papers to a larger audience, and will allow us to better attract higher profile clinical research from around the world. We anticipate many enhancements to the journal which will benefit our authors, members, and readers.”
“Elsevier leadership shares this excitement and is honored to have been chosen by CHEST to help grow the journal from its already strong foundation of quality content and global recognition of its importance in the specialty,” commented Pamela Poppalardo, Publishing Director, Health and Medical Sciences Journals at Elsevier.
