Elsevier Selected for 2014 EContent 100

Annual List Identifies 100 Companies that Matter Most in the Digital Content Industry

New York, December 15, 2014

Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services was named as one of EContent Magazine's EContent 100 for 2014. Published annually for the past 13 years, the EContent 100 is a compilation of the 100 companies with the most significant impact on the digital publishing and digital content world for the year.

According to the EContent Editor Theresa Cramer, the EContent 100's industry input and adjudication criteria have evolved, much like the digital content industry, since being established in 2002.

"This year we had three new judges and lots of new companies to consider. We also included a new category: Big Data," explained Cramer. "These days, data is the driving force behind almost everything on the web. From the targeted ads you see while surfing your favorite sites, to the articles and videos which those sites serve up to you, data is behind it all. Congratulations to all of the companies on this year's EContent 100 List and kudos on all they contribute to the digital content industry."

Elsevier was recognized as one of the EContent 100 in the content distribution and delivery category.

"We're pleased to see Elsevier recognized again on the annual EContent 100 list of companies advancing the digital content industry," said Alexander Boetzelaer, Managing Director, R&D Solutions, Elsevier. "We strive to continually improve the distribution and delivery of relevant and accurate content, so that answers are not only easily discoverable but also actionable then paired with the right tools. From the engineers that use Knovel to the chemists that use Reaxys, our users rely on our products for a range of answers, and we are proud to support the innovative work they do."

This is the fourth straight year Elsevier or its products have received this prestigious recognition.
