We are committed to supporting your teaching and learning goals through our Elsevier Engineering portfolio.
We are excited to announce preprints as a new document type available on Engineering Village. Over 800,000 open access preprints from arXiv (from 2017 onwards) and SSRN are now findable within the Compendex database, with more coming soon. Preprints can be included or excluded from search by using the “Document Type” filter (which also contains other document types such as standards, conference proceedings etc).
Engineering Village covers high-quality, relevant and cross-disciplinary content sourced from a series of databases including our flagship database, Compendex. All databases within Engineering Village are maintained regularly and curated for engineers’ needs.

Standards are indexed in Compendex with controlled vocabulary, allowing for more precise discoverability than keyword searching alone. (…) If a library also subscribes to full text standards through a compatible vendor platform (e.g., ASTM Compass, IEEE Xplore), there is one-click access to full-text documents.
