Yue Liu

Wageningen University & Research, The Netherlands

Yue Liu works as Assistant Professor at the Food Microbiology group of Wageningen University. Her research spans the genomics and ecophysiology of food-associated microorganisms, including lactic acid bacteria. A primary focus of her work involves bacterial extracellular vesicles (EVs): naturally produced, liposome-like nanostructures. She is dedicated to advancing the understanding of EV biogenesis and its broader ecological and physiological implications. Furthermore, she explores the application of these vesicles as novel, health-promoting delivery systems for lipophilic bioactive compounds.
