Yi Zheng

Dr. Yi Zheng is an Associate Professor in the Global Institute of Future Technology at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Hes had been a tenured professor at Kansas State University, USA for about 6 years. Before that, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Engineering and Earth Sciences at Clemson University, USA. Dr. Zheng has been working with Novozymes Inc. for 2 years as a research scientist. He got his PhD degree in Biosystems Engineering from UCDavis. His research focuses on biomass valorization, including bioenergy, bio-based materials, wastewater treatment, microalgae, and bioprocess modeling. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles. His research has been funded by NSF, DOE, USDA, NASA, DOT, local governments, and industries. He received NSF CAREER Award, USA in 2019, the foundation’s most prestigious honor for early career faculty. He is an Executive Editor and Associate Editor for Bioresource Technology and Industrial Crops and Products, respectively.
