Professor Deng is a recipient of the National Innovation Pioneer Award and enjoys the Special Government Allowance of the State Council of China. He serves as Principal Investigator of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Creative Research Group Program, Distinguished Professor of the Yangtze River Scholars Program (Ministry of Education), and Recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. He has also been selected as a Leading Talent of the National “Ten Thousand Talents Program”, a Leading Scientist of Young and Middle-aged Science and Technology Innovation (Ministry of Science and Technology), and an awardee of the Ministry of Education’s New Century Excellent Talents Program.

He is the Chief Scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program of China.

Professor Deng has received numerous prestigious national academic awards, including the First Prize of the Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award (Science and Technology Progress, Ministry of Education, First Contributor), the Second Prize of the Higher Education Outstanding Scientific Research Achievement Award (Technological Invention, Ministry of Education, First Contributor), the First Prize of the Chinese Medical Science and Technology Award (First Contributor), the First Prize of the Chinese Stomatological Association Science and Technology Award (First Contributor), and the First Prize of the Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award (Second Contributor).

He has also been honored with the title of National Outstanding Science and Technology Worker, the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award (Youth Award), and the Shulan Medical Science Award (Youth Award).

In recent years, Professor Deng has presided over more than 30 national and provincial-level scientific research projects. He has made a series of original and internationally recognized contributions in the field of oral and maxillofacial biomaterials for tissue repair and regeneration.

He has published more than 300 academic papers, including over 200 SCI-indexed articles, with total citations exceeding 6,000. He has applied for over 100 national invention patents, with more than 80 patents authorized, including one authorized U.S. invention patent, and over 20 PCT international patent publications.

The series of innovative dental and jawbone restorative biomaterials developed by Professor Deng have obtained seven Class III medical device registration certificates from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China. These products have been widely adopted in clinical practice, with more than 15 million clinical applications, demonstrating significantly improved therapeutic outcomes.

He has delivered over 100 invited academic lectures at leading domestic and international conferences.
