Prof. Chen Xuesi, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and AIMBE Fellow, is a Researcher and Doctoral Supervisor serving as Director of the Academic Committee at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, CAS.

He pioneered the development of high-purity biodegradable poly (lactic acid) (PLA) and poly (amino acid) s. Notably, he achieved the industrialization of a 50,000-ton PLA production project (in collaboration with Pulis Bio) and secured 14 Class III Medical Device Registration Certificates in China. Leading multiple national strategic programs, he currently directs key initiatives including the National "14th Five-Year Plan" Key R&D Program (MOST) and the Basic Science Center Program (NSFC). With over 1,000 SCI-indexed papers (accumulating 49,000+ citations and an h-index of 113) and 300+ authorized patents, Prof. Chen has been honored with prestigious awards such as the National Innovation Pioneer Award, National May 1st Labor Medal, and CAS Outstanding Achievement Prize. His current public service roles include serving as a Deputy to the 14th National People's Congress and Vice President of the Jilin Provincial Association for Science and Technology.
